Notes

I make a bigger mess every time I clean.

I’ve decided to sort through all my clothes again to make room for new things I’ve accumulated since I’ve been away from my parents’ house, and of course it’s taking me a lot longer than it really needs to. It’s funny how every year when I do this, I decide to hold on to a few things because “it’s gonna go back in style!” But after 6 years, you can imagine how much unused clothing has just been sitting in my drawers and closet. Sure, I’ve donated a lot to “Salvation Mommy,” but not nearly enough for all the stuff I’m moving back with from Blacksburg, Richmond, and San Francisco.

My style has changed SO much since I was in middle school. Shoot, it’s changed so much since I was at Virginia Tech! What killed me tho was the jeans. See, from 3rd grade to 8th grade, my pants just kept getting bigger and baggier. The bigger the pants, the cooler I was. At least in my mind.

Typical Kissa attire circa 1998. Not pictured: Candies platform sneakers.

I rocked this outfit when I was about twelve. And twelve years later, my wardrobe did a complete 180º — the tighter the pants, the cooler I was. Again, at least in my mind.

Ripping at the seams. Yes, I know my fly is down. Not pictured: gold stilettos.

I don’t know what triggered the change, but what I do know is that I am an impractical dresser. And I should get back to “cleaning.”
