My nephew has been in the hospital battling pneumonia for a while, which is one reason why I’ve been back and forth between home and Richmond all semester. While he is looking better and better each time I visit, it still breaks my heart to see him in this state. What breaks my heart just as much, though, is seeing my cousin and his wife watch their son fight for his life, knowing they can’t just kiss the pain away. Both of them are still trying to hold it down for the fam, juggling work and being by Jonas’ bedside. But it’s rough, as you could imagine.

We hope to see him running and playing, and hear his precious laugh again one day. In the meantime, please spread the word about his treatment fund. Every little bit helps. My family would truly appreciate it.
