I’m about 3 years (correction: 7 years) late, but Janelle Monáe is DOPE. If you haven’t heard of her, definitely check her out. Her sound plays with “elements of musical theater, funk and the dirty south.” I guess I’m glad, in a way, that I never heard of her before because then I’d be waiting even longer for her debut album to drop!
P.S. I had a ridiculous time typing this short post with my right index finger bandaged up. Darn you, mysterious paper cut.
